It's good to share practice with cultural organisations in other countries.
Nicola has delivered training sessions to museum professionals in Hungary on developing learning spaces, evaluation skills and community consultation. She has given conference presentations for the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of National Cultural Heritage, and given a presentation to museum education students at Eötvös Loránd University about museum websites and e-learning. She has given advice to the Historical Museum at Pécs about their new education room.
Nicola has written a chapter on Learning with Objects for a new museum learning handbook: "A Múzeumi Tanulás Kézikönyve", published in 2011 by ELTE TTK Multimédia Pedagógiai és Informació Technológiai Központ (Eötvös Loránd University Multimedia Teaching and IT Centre), and the Magyar Természettudományi Múzeum (Hungarian Natural History Museum).
In 2010, Nicola became a member of the Kuratórium (board) of Múzeumok és Látogatók Alapítvány (Museums and Visitors Foundation).
In March 2012, Nicola will deliver training about evaluating learning programmes for young people for the Museoforum in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The European-funded Leonardo and Grundtvig programmes offer great opportunities to visit and work with other European cultural organisations. Nicola took part in a study visit to Slovakia, organised by Arch Network through the Leonardo programme, to look at interpreting churches, family history tourism, the built and natural environment and traditional crafts, food and customs.
